Govt accepts Chhar Mheng holiday

Ekantipur Report, KATHMANDU, JAN 12 - The government has decided to accept an assistance of $US 2million from South Korea in an attempt to develop Lumbini as a World Peace City.

The Cabinet meeting on Thursday took the decision to this effect. Furthermore, the government decided to allocate Rs 2.555 million for the upcoming ministerial-level meeting of the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC).

Similarly, the meeting has charged the Political Committee with the responsibility to carry out further homework for declaring 41 new metropolitans. The Cabinet also endorsed the team for the upcoming Nepal-India Home Secretary level meeting.

Likewise, the meeting decided to celebrate Tourism Campaign Year from 2013-2020. Moreover the Cabinet also decided to accept the Rs 4.45 billion aid from Britain and Finland for the development of Forest areas.

Similarly, Former Secretary Janak Raj Joshi was appointed as the new Vice Chairman for Poverty Alleviation Fund. Also, the government decided to give holiday to the Chhantyal ethnic group on the occasion of Maghi Parva.
